Academic teaching rationale
The privative/negative is a word-initial m- whose vowel copies the following stem vowel (m-/ma-/me-/mi-); the same m- negates verbs, so derived adjectives and verbs share one negator with vowel assimilation. Example: insinehabuti -> minsinehabuti = affectionate -> unloving
